The Fungus Humongous is Among Us. Be one with the ‘shroom or do you float away like a jellyfish? This installation will draw you in to sit on its fruiting bodies while you play, relax, and soak up its visually stimulating beauty. Some venues are appropriate to have the "contagious" mushrooms. If touched they spread their glowing goodness around (Not suggested for all events, all glowing powder is water soluble and will come off if one washes their hands after handling) The "contagious" mushrooms are clearly marked NOT TO TOUCH OR ELSE! There are other ways it can spread its glow, from the interactive plasma discs to the sound activated EL-wire. Overall, an interesting way to hang out with this fabulous species, Fungus Humongous!
The Fungus Humongous is a 15'-18' High Reflective Mushroom with a 12" Canopy. The main stem is a patchwork of silver reflective and florescent fabrics. The inside of the canopy is in sheer fabric so that the EL-wire is visible from underneath. (This is sound activated) The top of the canopy is in crinkled reflective fabric with large orange and white spots sewn into it. The four lower mushrooms will mimic this design but smaller. These are covered in a silver "Mylar-like" fabric making it easy to clean. Also the 36" square memory foam "toadstools" create comfortable areas to relax and play with the interactive circles (these are plasma disc which are embedded into the cushions) When one places their finger on them, the energy follows them. Other plasma discs are around the structure mounted in the smaller mushrooms. Some of the smaller mushrooms will be clearly labeled as dangerous. These will contain “Contamination Powder Spores”… a harmless invisible power that is visible only under black light. These “SPORES” show how we are come in contact with each other and spread our light. We literally can touch someone and affect/infect them. (Not all events will have these special ‘shrooms) Sound-activated EL-wire is suspended down from the larger mushroom with a sea of UV reactive ribbon with floating Jellyfish. The framework is in 1.5" rigid PVC pipe with flexible PVC to create the desired dome. Battery powered EL wire will make this possible to have independent lighting if needed. However a generator or electricity is needed to power the 8x 4' Black light strips that illuminate this giant beast! A separate Black light Cannon will be position to hit the whole installation from afar. The structure is designed to be easily taken apart and re-installed at other events.
